| Colnago EXTREME Power 2007 Colnago's all new for 2007 Extreme-Power is the most innovative bicycle in the Colnago range. The Extreme-Power was born to meet the demands of sprinters Alessandro Petacchi and Erik Zabel of Team Milram and three time World Champion Oscar Freire of Team Rabobank who all have a power output of 180 kg for each pedal stroke. Extreme-Power frames have special conical oversize down tube and top tube tubing, with a 38mm diameter head tube and 44mm bottom bracket. Inside these special butted Extreme-Power tubes are two unidirectional high modulus carbon fiber longitudinal reinforcement ribs that are 10mm long and 0,8mm thick. These internal reinforcements provide 30% more resistance to torsional stress than before, while the 35mm diameter seat tube accomodates a 31.6mm oversize seat post. The bottom bracket is in CNC Titanium to facilitate maintenance. Extreme-Power's rear chain stays are in Colnago's distinctive Leaf shaped form, with a new oval 17*35mm insert into the bottom bracket. Extreme-Power is available in 14 traditional sizes from 52 ct to 65 ct , 7 sloping sizes and the Extreme-Power can also be made in personalized custom sizes. Frame assembled with carbon tubes and lugs, Made in Italy. - Available in 21 standard sizes and custom sizes. - Top tube: Tapered 38 mm/35 mm with variable thickness and internal longitudinal reinforcement systems moulded. - Down Tube: Tapered 44 mm/35 mm with varying thickness with contrasted internal longitudinal reinforcement systems moulded. - Bottom bracket: Titanium CNC machined - Wishbone: B-stay in carbon fibre - Chain stay with Leaf shape, oval joint (17 mm x 35 mm) in carbon fibre - Fork: Colnago Star carbon 1"18 - Seat post diameter: 31,6 mm - Characteristics: Extreme power created to satisfying the demands of powerful professionals riders like Petacchi, reinforcements in tubes give the frame 30% more rigidity. |
